On Monday morning, the 18th of March, the first stork appeared in the nest at Vlaha. According to the timelapse, it landed on the nest at 7:47 and left at 7:55. He did not celebrate his arrival by bill-clattering. He did straighten a twig or two on the nest, but we suspect he was just passing through.
At 17:12 in the afternoon, however, a flock of at least ten stork arrived in the village. One of them landed on the nest, spent a long time cowering and defended the nest from its mates. He did not allow them to land. Attempts continued for at least twenty minutes until a change of guard occurred at about 17:30. Then one of the arrivals landed and the one that had been protecting the nest left. Meanwhile, foreign storks kept passing over the nest. At around 18:10 the stork protecting the nest let one of the newcomers land. Since then there have been the two of them. We didn't have to wait ten minutes for the first mating.
